Seven years ago on June 29, 2019, Lluís and I arrived in Barcelona after walking 16,000 kilometers from Bangkok.
Since then, our documentary, Bangkok Barcelona On Foot, has travelled almost as much as we have. It’s been screened at film festivals, shared at conferences and community gatherings, talked about on podcasts, rented online, and watched by people all over the world.
Every time someone reached out to say, “Your film gave me hope,” or “I’m finally planning the adventure I’ve been dreaming about,” we were reminded that the walk didn’t really end in Barcelona. It simply found new ways to keep walking through the lives of other people.
That’s why we’ve decided to make the documentary available for free on different platforms: We want to remind people that another way of seeing the world is possible.
Although the actual, physical walked ended years ago, we believe the essence of the journey–and the story that has always supported the journey–continues to provide what we need more of right now…kindness, inspiration, and hope.
These days, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by headlines that leave us questioning the future, “the others,” and sometimes even ourselves. The world can feel noisy, divided, and heavy. We can’t solve those challenges with a 27-minute documentary, but we can offer a small counterweight and a reminder that another story is also true.
Bangkok Barcelona On Foot isn’t only a film about walking across two continents. It’s evidence.
Evidence that…
Ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
Fear doesn’t have to make every decision.
Strangers can become friends.
Kindness still exists in all corners of the world if we’re willing to open our eyes to see and feel it.
Impossible dreams become possible when we stop worrying about the entire journey and consistently choose to take the very next small step.
Looking back over these last seven years, I know the walk taught me lessons about endurance, resilience, and kindness. Perhaps, though, its greatest lesson–and gift–was trust.
Trust that people are often kinder than we expect.
Trust that life has a remarkable way of meeting and carrying you forward when you show up and say YES! to the call.
Trust that courage, as companion and not only a reaction, can steadily be built through thousands of ordinary moments that eventually add up to an extraordinary life.
If watching our film encourages even one person to dust off a long-forgotten dream, have one brave conversation, book the ticket, start the creative project, walk around the block, or stand taller with a little more hope and confidence, then making it freely available on several platforms is completely and absolutely worth it.
And this speaks to what has always been the higher purpose of this walk: To explore our beautiful world, experience and appreciate the kindness of others, and add our own drops of love to our global community the best way we know how…one step at a time.
Come walk with us. Watch the film. Share it with your friends and family. Help it ripple far and wide. Let it inspire new journeys beyond our own edges.
Mostly, we hope it leaves you with the same feeling we still carry from the road all these years later: The world is more generous than we sometimes remember, and another way of living is always possible.

Another anniversary gift…
This month also marks two years since the publication of The In Between: Journeying From Fear to Courage, the book that grew from many of the emotional lessons I learned on the walk.
To celebrate, the paperback is 50% off and the hardcover is 30% off through July 3, 2026 via Amazon.
Also until July 3, there’s a free ebook giveaway for the first 100 readers HERE on Curios, a platform that directly supports creators.
Whether you choose the film, the book, or both, I hope they remind you that courage isn’t something we’re born with. It’s something we cultivate and practice…one day at a time, over our entire lifetimes.
