Now that we have finished our adventure, and walked Thailand, Burma, Bangladesh, India, Pamir, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, France and Catalonia–approximately 16,048 kilometers in 955 days on route, we once again want to say thank you. Today, with hearts full, we want to acknowledge the many different ways your kindness and generosity helped us in so many ways overcome challenges, live our dream and carry on with this adventure.

Segurament ja ho sabeu, però és bonic i volem recordar-vos-ho. Us portem a tots vosaltres dins els nostres cors.
La vostra ajuda, el vostre amor, ànims, suport, abraçades, correus electrònics, missatges a les xarxes socials i tots els vostres bons desigs han estat de gran importància per nosaltres. Saber que tenim la gran sort de gaudir d’una xarxa de bondat i bones persones com vosaltres al nostre voltant, ens ha ajudat en gran manera durant moltes hores del dia, durant molts dies, setmanes i mesos.

Thank you to everyone driving all kinds of vehicles for not running us down or hitting us. There were many, many kilometers along many, many roads where many, many vehicles passed very close to us, within centimeters. Any hit could have severely hurt us, possibly fatally wounding us. We are so grateful that we made it through the walk untouched and unharmed by bicycles, cars, mopeds, buses, horse and ox-drawn carts or trucks.

Thank you to those people who stopped his truck at the highway, ran across two lanes of traffic, jumped a concrete wall, crossed another two lanes of traffic and walked down a hill to say hello and invite us to his home. We had already walked 30 kilometers, but we decided to walk another 8 more to arrive to his town long after the sunset. A car approached us, and our host jumped out. He got his son-in-law and daughter to drive around the town and its perimeter looking for us because it was dark, late and he wanted to make sure we didn’t get lost.

Al matí següent van aixecar-se a les 4:30 h per portar-nos en cotxe fins on nosaltres vàrem caminar el dia anterior i després ells van tornar a casa seva per llavors anar a treballar uns 50 km en direcció oposada. /
Thank you to those people who, for hosting us an extra night, we left their home and walked 30 kilometers, the drove that distance to pick us up and drove us back to their home to sleep. Next morning they woke up at 4:30 a.m. to drive us back to where we finished walking the previous evening, and then they headed back to their home, to drive to work about 50 km in the complete opposite direction of where they dropped us off.

Thank you to everyone who saw us passing by, ran out of their homes, breathlessly caught up with us, and so generously invited us to have lunch with them. Once at home, we became part of the family, to the point that we extended our stay two more days, as we were invited to join them at a family event. The love we received from them was huge. Months later, we found out they named two of kids’ pet chickens after us!

Thank you to everyone who saw us crossing their little town, offered us the use of their bathroom, then a hot meal and during dinner they asked us tons of questions. Once they got to know us better, they let us take a shower and sleep in their home.

Gràcies a aquelles persones que ens van convidar a un cafè mentre caminàvem sota la freda pluja. Durant el cafè ens van oferir quedar-nos a dormir, però com encara havíem de caminar més, van accedir a portar-nos en cotxe 17 kms més endavant, nosaltres vam tornar a peu a casa seva i al matí següent ens van tornar a portar en cotxe al mateix punt per nosaltres seguir caminant la nostra ruta. /
Thank you to everyone who offered a coffee while we were walking in the cold rain. During the coffee they invited us to sleep in their home, but as we still had more kilomteres to cover, they agreed to drive us 17 kms ahead so we could walk back to their house. The next morning, they drove us back to the same spot 17 kms ahead where we continued walking our route.

One of the neighbors said yes, and, she, without knowing us, showered us with generosity, hospitality, food, tenderness and friendship.

Thank you to everyone who saw us checking out a horse shelter, stopped their car, drove backwards, and gave us permission to camp under the roof of the horse shelter so we could be partially covered from the elements. Later on, they drove back to bring us food and water before we put up the tent.
